SAMPLE ITINERARY

Day One - Dine overlooking the Chianti Classico vineyards

Meet at Florence airport. You will be met by your Italian Connection guide, who will accompany you during the entire tour. Transfer (90 minutes) to the heart of the Chianti Classico wine producing region.  Check-in to your 4-star hotel, a 17th century manor house on a wine producing estate, with delightful gardens and far reaching views across the Chianti hills, yet just a short stroll from the cafes and shops in town. Orientation walk and dinner in town.

Day Two - Walk in vineyards, visit winery, taste wine & olive oil

After a leisurely buffet breakfast, we take a short ride to the beginning of a panoramic walk up (2 hrs) through the vineyards, to a hilltop village. This is where our cooperative team spirit begins, as we huff and puff uphill - just stop and enjoy the fantastic views! We tour a winery with an historic cellar tucked below the town’s 13th-century walls, then enjoy a guided tasting of their Chianti Classico, Riserva, as well as their top Super Tuscan wine. Learn the secrets of tasting extra virgin olive oil at the olive press, and sip fragrant green olive oil from a cup! Lunch in the garden of a friendly trattoria, overlooking the Tuscan hills, before we continue our walk downhill.

Day Three - Cook in Chianti, walk ancient trails, taste Brunello

This morning we take a short drive to a wine-producing estate where we are welcomed into a professional kitchen with chef Marco, and dive into a hands-on cooking lesson – our results will be lunch, so let’s hope we are all superb students! Learn how to make fresh pasta, and pick herbs from the kitchen garden to flavor pasta sauce and roasted meat. After lunch accompanied by the estate’s wines, we head off on foot along a network of ancient tracks once used by horse drawn-carriages and mules, but we’ll be staggering on foot. Later a local expert will guide us in a tasting as we learn to distinguish fine balsamic vinegar, aged for a minimum of 12 years. Dinner in town.

Day Four - Journey to Siena, meetings

Morning departure by private coach to the medieval walked city of Siena. Check into our 5-star hotel, a restored palazzo in the pedestrian zone, and take a private walking tour through the maze of narrow streets radiating out from the central Piazza del Campo. After lunch at the hotel, we’ll start on afternoon meetings in a private conference room. Aperitivo in the piazza and dinner in a tiny hideaway, where fresh pasta is still handmade.

Day Five - Meetings in Siena

Business meetings from 8:30am to 4:00pm today, punctuated by a coffee break and a light lunch. Afterwards there will be some free time to stroll, shop, or just explore the town. Tonight we’ll toast a brief but memorable sojourn in Italy with an aperitivo in the wine cellar of a medieval tower, followed by a relaxed dinner in the hotel.

Day Six

Transfer to Florence airport (60-90 minutes) Arrivederci!
